ESTHAUG Concert Guitar (Hybrid: Classical-Flamenco) REF: S6 N49 dated 2019
Scale length of 660mm.
It is a prototype, the very first concerning the ESTHAUG shape. Shape obtained through a work of "poetic geometry" using the Golden Ratio and the only initially admitted dimension of 660mm as a starting base. A publication on this work will be published.
*Top in Spruce from a 1996 batch.
*Body in solid Cypress for the back and sides (Exterior) from a local cypress tree fallen during the storm of January 1999.
-Interior structured -wood composite-, Linden, balsa, red-stained maple, for a final thickness of 7mm. Soundhole section in red-stained maple.
*Neck in Honduras Cedar (Swietenia Macrophylla, Cites ok). Two integrated carbon rods.
*Fingerboard, bridge, head, bindings, under-rosette reinforcement in African ebony (Diospyros Crassiflora, Cites ok).
*End block of sides at the bottom of the body (ebony/mahogany Bubinga composite – Guibourtia Demeusei, Cites ok).
*Concept of the top bracing in Lattice, 100% spruce composed of 117 glued pieces (from a table of a very old Pleyel piano). Bars, X3 in spruce.
*Back braces composite, spruce/red-stained maple.
*Back strip composite in four layers of maple, stained red and black.
*This guitar contains a rosette whose alphanumeric motifs (maple/linden stained black) sign (in the mass) the references of the instrument. No label. Its reinforcement in ebony.
*The edge binding of the top, composed of multiple layers maple/linden stained black is built "molded" for a monoblock result without a joint at the bottom of the top (aesthetic and
structural).
*Side bindings composed of ebony, red (linden) and black (stained maple) veneers. The same for the back, bottom of the body (exterior visible part) and heel tip.
*Nut and saddle in bone.
*Tuning machines imitating pegs, Planetary Peg.
*The neck is lacquered black, dyed in the mass.
*Ultra-thin PU varnish, total weight, including neck, of about 35g."
